The ritual Bi disk is an ancient Chinese symbol representing heaven and sky.
In this necklace, the black onyx Bi is combined with a Japanese lacquered bar
and suspended from a silk cord with an insert of shibori dyed silk.
A Cinnabar bead, enamel, horn and pewter rings and Chinese knots complete the design.
